Bridezilla, to be?
Taking cue from Mei's wedding jitters, I'm reminded of Lee's favourite TV show, Bridezillas (aired on Arena). Don't ask me if it was his way of hinting or gauging where our relationship was going, but while sitting with him watching the show, he did ask me if I'd be a bridezilla.
Bridezilla (a portmanteau of bride and Godzilla) is a generic term used to describe a difficult, unpleasant, perfectionist bride who leaves aggravated family, friends and bridal vendors in her wake. A bridezilla is obsessed with her wedding as her perfect day and will disregard the feelings of her family, bridesmaids and even her groom in her quest for the perfect wedding.Safe to say, if the feeling of organizing a wedding is beginning to look like working on a film/TV production, I'll tell you I don't have a track record of going beserkers with my crew. Okay, maybe I lied. There were one or two *mild* instances, from the many productions I've done. Heh.
I have to admit that I do have an anal or perfectionist streak. So the possibility of being a bridezilla is there. If I haven't decided at some stage to drop everything and elope! =P
Going back on watching the show, despite knowing it could have been highly produced, you'll witness brides who are your typical spoilt brats or extreme perfectionists. All at one point during planning, would be throwing fits, tantrums, crying or taking it out on every body in sight. Everything made me wonder, why would a single "flaw" in a wedding be so bad? Maybe tripping on your cathedral train and falling flat faced down the aisle wouldn't exactly be the most memorable thing, but would that be reason for bridezilla behaviour? If anything, I'd think it'd give people something to remember it by. Hehehe... Okay, not that I'd wish it on myself or anyone. But my point being, why be obsessed with every little detail being "perfect" that you lose sight of the reason why you're walking down the aisle? Sometimes "flaws" could just be what makes things perfect. Or the things you think "perfect" might just not be perfect for you.
Given the chance to speculate myself, I think I'd probably go bridezilla if the food at the reception is late, or awful. Everything else, I'll be able to cope. Heheh...
Brides-to-be, have no fear about being labelled a "bridezilla." Apparently these days, it could be him turning into a groomzilla.

it's because there is so much pressure for the day to be 'prefect' - and more often than not with big productions, nothing every goes to plan;from the wrong fitting of the bridesmaid dress to the mosquitoes trailing behind you like crazy.
I was a memorable bridezilla, screaming all day long for people to STEP AWAY FROM MY TRAIN. teehee. No one has seen a moodier bride before.
