Feel tip top & a blog meet
Thanks for all the wonderful well wishes guys! The break was rather short, albeit a bit on the late side since I've been sick for over a month, but the good thing is I'm feeling much better now! The throwing up stopped once I laid off protein food (dad's advice) and now I'm on a minimum 2-litre-a-day water diet.
me & Sydney Blogger's mascot, Babe Lee & I finally got to the Sydney Bloggers meetup last night, after having missed the last one. The organisers, Mr & Mrs Bargain Queen put up Babe the mascot for easy spotting. Definitely a good usher for Chinese New Year, no?
The crowd was very different compared to the blogger gatherings back home. While the Malaysian blogsphere seem inundated with teens to early twenty-somethings with preppy lifestyle blogs, the late twenties and above Australian blogsphere seem more geared towards niche topics or money-making. Well, at least with those who were at the meetup last night.
I met CoolChiq (whose birthday is today - just before mine. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! ^_^), blogging evangelist Des Walsh, Steven Noble, Gath, and of course Mr & Mrs Bargain Queen - Merc and Sara. Though I didn't get to meet him, Problogger Darren Rowse was there too! It was a group of about 20, half of which had dropped in from the ad:tech conference. Hence the slight formal feel from the suit and ties, which felt reminiscent of First Tuesday gatherings to me.
I loved the venue though. The 19th Century decor ArtHouse Hotel bar upstairs where we were had a paintings and photography exhibit which kept me a slight bit distracted through the night.
postdate: Oh, and I forgot to add another difference... there weren't any camwhores in this gathering. =P
