Blog break
I'm going on a blog break. I don't fancy that ubiquitous blogger word "hiatus" =P But yeah, for health reasons. I've just had a repeat of the kidney infection I went through back in August 2005. The fatigue and trying to sit up long enough in front of my laptop screen is rather painful to the eyes. Sometimes even walking across the room gets me breathless.
I didn't think it was another repeat infection until my kidneys started to hurt again last week. A visit to the doctor confirmed it and along with an anti-botic prescription, she'd given me a referral to take get an ultrasound done. The ultrasound is of course an overdue one which I was supposed to do August last year, as previously recommended by a nephrologist. This was to confirm if the cyst found at the first ultrasound is indeed the begining of the hereditary Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).
Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a genetic disorder characterized by the growth of numerous cysts in the kidneys. The cysts are filled with fluid. PKD cysts can slowly replace much of the mass of the kidneys, reducing kidney function and leading to kidney failure.

Anyway, it's nothing to be worried about because I'm almost done with the anti-biotics. I'm just going to need a break away from the screen, and indulge in more lazy activities. Hopefully I'll be back by my birthday - Feb 9 - which is also my sixth blogging anniversary!
