No booze, midriff or dancing at dance clubs
The Kelantan state government is at it again... This time banning booze, midriffs and mix gendered couples from dancing.
Nik Aziz Nik Mat, chief minister of the opposition-run state of Kelantan, has said he does not oppose dancing, but couples should not do it and women's navels must not be exposed, in line with strict Islamic rules, the Star newspaper said on Sunday. So gay and lesbian couples dancing together is fine? tsk. As long as the lesbian couples cover up their aurat? Maybe if the girls' blouses are too short and showing their navel, they can pull it lower and show off their cleavages instead? tsk...
I love how this state doesn't allow even married couples to do things together in public either. You can't watch a movie there together, or go grocery shopping together. Males and females have separate queues. Maybe that makes things easier for the husbands with have four wives, no?

Sigh... Sometimes, I get this nagging feeling that this country is going backwards.
