First Sunday of Advent
O Emmanuel, Jesus Christ,
desire of every nation,
Savior of all peoples,
come and dwell among us.
The four Sundays preceding Christmas is celebrated in Advent - in anticipation of Christ's birth. And today begins the first.
Lee and I were at Spotlight at Birkenhead Point yesterday getting crafty. I didn't go all beserk on the Chrissy deco and instead settled for a pretty red velvet-looking table runner, four tiny candles and a few holly pieces on a candle holder plate to make an Advent Wreath centre piece for the dining table. Figured that'd be more meaningful and less ambitious than getting the tree up for now. Plus after looking at the tree, I'm honestly not too sure about it going up. It's a silver, green, pink and purplish tinsel tree... That's going to be a challenge trying to get it to look like a decent and proper Jesse Tree.

I was hoping our priest would wear a pink robe today but he wore a purple one. LOL. Love Advent for the pink and purple candles, though. So sweet. Do you know that our shopping malls here only play INSTRUMENTAL Christmas songs? Man....I feel like calling my gang of choir and sang for free by the roadside! Grrr...
