7th European Union Film Festival
Already halfway through, the 7th European Union Film Festival at GSC's MidValley & 1Utama, again has an interesting collection of European films on show. Take a break from the predictable love stories or dramatic story arcs that Hollywood force feeds you for box office money, and try something different for a change.
I'm just now catching up on the screened films synopsis' and am really eager to do a day or two marathon before it ends this Saturday! Any takers?
A bit on the disgruntled side though was a little typical annoying Malaysian experience Sze and I had at the GSC 1Utama ticket counter earlier today. Crowded with your usual weekend patrons, the lines were long and distracting amidst the film banners and stands. After having lined up for about 10 minutes, when we asked for our chosen EUFF film, we were told we were at the wrong line! Sze kindly told the fresh schoolie behind the counter that there were no signs indicating that there was a designated counter selling the film festival tickets.
We lined up again taking about another five minutes to arrive at the correct counter, when we were cut by a couple who were also annoyed at the lack of signage. The supervisor had conveniently taken charge of the ticketer's computer and printed out the couple's tickets just as we were trying to get ours! Annoyed, Sze asked the supervisor why she did that and she nonchalantly explained that it was because the couple had lined up at the wrong counter. I pressed on saying that we did the same thing but lined up again. The supervisor then replied that the couple was angry. A response that really set me off, I sarcastically remarked that
maybe then we should all get angry to get better service!
Really, to get any kind of service we deserve as a consumer, we need to show anger and frustration. That is the Malaysian way, isn't it?

You should've got angry. You should've slamed the counter, demanding to see the manager. You may have gotten free tickets :P
