I am thinking, therefore I exist

For the love of thinking and philosophy, I don't believe it would be wrong to quote Rene Descartes on his "Je pense, donc je suis". Even though it's become such a cliche in the blogosphere, there's something about the philosophy of life that excites me to dwell on it. Yes, this is a "who is midnite lily?" post, reedited from the old one.

+the eQuation
quarter chinese + quarter thai + half filipina + with a dash of spanish blood = 100% malaysian
Call me rojak, hybrid, ABC... I've heard it all. And despite the accented English people claim I speak (I still don't agree with that tho), I'm 100% Malaysian and proud of it! Never been born or bred abroad. I'm a PJ girl at heart (who loathes living in a different suburb now).

+the lily
The midnite lily has been dwindling the midnite, graveyard blog shift since 2000... because it is my most conscious hours of thought where you'll get to reel over-@nal-ytical, inane thoughts. And I think it's obvious I love lilies, too. =P But if you think this nick is pretentious, then you won't like my real name. Ha-ha.

+the person
Eccentrically stubborn and constantly restless, my driving force is my mind. Mental stimulation and over-analysis is what will drive you crazy if you met me, but really, not before you think I seem aloof, obnoxious or graceless.
I love reading books about philosophy, psychology, neurotic fiction with a twist and the occassional jiwang poetry. My esteemed choice of wordsmiths are Jostein Gaarder, Roald Dahl, J.D. Salinger, John Keats.
I consider myself a foodie, but I dare to try anything. You've already read about the balut and my childhood food, but that's just the tip of the ice-berg. Just don't ask me what it is about Malaysians and food. I'm allergic to coffee but love the smell of coffee beans. I'm a choc-aholic. On an ordinary day, I absolutely love potatoes (cooked any way), cheese, pasta and lamb.

+the life & times
I've always enjoyed writing from a young age and initially wanted to become a journalist. But as fate had it, I had my first TV job and I'm still stuck with it. Well, at least I still get to write... and tell people what to do in front of the camera, and get a headache out of organizing it all.

So, I'm here. Read what you want.
