Fondue House
I have such a craving to be out almost every weekend for the last three weeks! When I asked Seadev what she was doing tonite, and she referred me to 1Utama's Oktoberfest, I wasn't too keen especially because I'm not much of a beer person. But shortly after 6pm, word started to spread that the RM1 beers were gone at the 500th! And it was a rip off for RM 20 per bottle and RM 70 per bucket of 4. Seadev was so disappointed.
Funnily enough, while googling 1U's Oktoberfest... I found this entry about the Fondue House. I made this a definite dinner destination, and it was absolute bliss!
I absolutely love cheese, and having to finally try this Swiss dish without forking out a bomb was the best thing for me! And Seadev felt the same melting way. We ordered the beef set and was recommended the Bacon & Cheese Fondue.
The best part of this, as Seadev highlighted, was the garlic stick that came in the bread basket. She felt that the taste of the beef was drowned in the fondue and true enough, the more traditional way is with bread dipped. We much preferred the broccoli and bread basket assortment.
We knew we had to make room for this American dessert fondue, only because strawberries in chocolate was too tempting to miss. So we ordered the Chocolate Whisky Fondue.
The whisky came separate in a little shot glass.
And it made so much of a difference to the taste of the melting chocolate. She said it tastes much nicer than the cocoa tasting chocolate fountain at Shangri-La.
Try it out. The Fondue House is at 5, Plaza Prisma Ville, Jalan 26A/70A, Desa Sri Hartamas, a few doors down from the Proton Edar showroom opposite Coffee Bean.

But, yeah, i'm with Joa on this one - Fondue House's service didn't exactly impress me when i went there, but then again it might've been that i came with 20 ppl... ;)

tbh, i didn't like the beef fondue set. but enjoyed dipping the bread sticks into the cheese more. & the whiskey chocolate.
it's simple enough, if you don't compare it to expensive hotel fares.
midnite lily | January 13, 2006 12:12 PM

all the different fondue sets (chicken, beef or seafood) costs no more than RM30 for at least two ppl.
